Jennifer C. Onuora, PhD

Founder & Chief Scientific Officer

Dr. Jennifer C. Onuora is a Healthcare Strategy Consultant and global health scientist, trained at the University of Toronto’s Temerty Faculty of Medicine and The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids). She holds a Master’s in Medical Sciences from Newcastle University, England and a BSc in Biotechnology with First Class Honours from Nigeria. A Commonwealth Scholar and Governor General’s Gold Medal nominee, she has received several international awards across her academic, scientific, and professional career.

She has conducted research across five countries on three continents, holding positions at institutions spanning academia, global health, and biotechnology. Her work bridges evidence generation and translation, from designing and running studies in low- and middle-income countries to advising on science strategy and communications at an international level.

As Founder and Chief Scientific Officer of ELLVERIS, she built the platform in response to a fundamental gap in women’s health intelligence. Women are consistently sold products, programmes, and wellness solutions before the science is clear, navigating a crowded landscape of apps, supplements, and health claims with little access to rigorous, independent evidence. ELLVERIS exists to change that. Through evidence synthesis, scientific translation, and editorial rigour, it makes science accessible to women so they can be genuinely well informed and make better decisions about their beauty, health, career, and wellbeing on their own terms.
